Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin - Misty Woman returns on vinyl once more through Black Throne Productions for its third repress, bringing back one of the standout releases from the San Diego trio’s mix of heavy psych, desert rock, and surf-inspired psychedelic twang.
The album is built on glowing psychedelic textures with a unique blend of vintage surf influences / fuzzy desert rock atmosphere.
Since I first heard the album, I’ve been pretty convinced it has its own lane. While the album itself does have some inspiration from bands like All Them Witches, Dead Meadow, and the Ventures, the band maintains their sense of individuality and crafts their own sound.

It was originally released as the band’s debut full-length and highlights their experimenting between garage psych, vintage surf rock, and desert rock.
When we first started working with them I think they called it “Dark Psych Pop” which I thought is actually the best way to describe it. It feels made for late nights and empty highways..long drives where the coastline slowly fades in the rear view with the open desert ahead.
It’s psychedelic surrealism in a musical format.
This third pressing follows two previous vinyl releases through Black Throne Productions and continues the physical run of one of Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin’s defining works.

“We’re stoked to announce that Misty Woman is BACK!! We’re so excited to breathe new life into it again 7 years later. This record is a time capsule of what our lives were like from 2017–2019.
Lyrically, it was inspired by the fallout of a relationship. The character of Misty Woman was originally born out of a surf rock band Anthony and I played in together, but over the years she’s taken on a life of her own.
